The Memory Bear Project
The Memory Bear program is sustained by generous donors like you.
The Volunteers of VNA/Hospice of Monroe County offer a wonderful service for our families. To help preserve the memory of your loved one, at your request we will have a "Memory Bear" made for you from one of your loved one's garments.
Your bear can be made from almost any sturdy, medium-weight fabric.
Examples include:
- Lightweight wool, from a jacket
- Flannel, from a shirt, pajamas or bathrobe
- Cotton, from a sweatshirt or t-shirt
- Velvet, from a blouse or dress
Stretch or lightweight fabrics cannot be used. At least one yard of useable fabric is needed. For sanitary reasons, please wash or dry clean the fabric before sending.
